AboutMe

From the time I was a child, I was a writer. I was either writing stories about kitties or my own little newspaper to sell to the neighbors.

Years later, I got to work for a real newspaper when I attended the University of New Mexico. I wrote a humor column for the university's newspaper, The Daily Lobo.

After I graduated from UNM with a B.A. in Professional Writing and a minor in biology, I moved to New York City, where I attended New York University's Summer Publishing Institute.

I soon landed a job with John Wiley & Sons, a major publisher that, at the time, was located in the heart of The City.  I worked in the scientific/medical/technical journals division, and was quickly promoted to Associate Production Editor.

When I decided I would like to move back to New Mexico, I was hired by Wiley as a copyeditor.

After a brief hiatus from writing and editing, I became a reporter for a small local paper, the Mountain View Telegraph. Although I had little journalism experience, in a little more than a year I was honored to receive both a first and a second place award for my work with the paper.

In the fall of 2012, I decided I would like to try my hand at freelance writing and editing.

I have written just about everything: comedy blogs, articles/blogs focusing on SEO content, text for government websites, and technical/scientific documents.
